Ghid de supravietuire in caz de examen

De cele mai multe ori, cuvantul “examen” e sinonim cu cuvantul “stres“. Lucrul acesta se intampla de obicei din cauza faptului ca pregatirea pentru acest examen a fost lasata pe ultima suta de metri sau ca este un examen crucial de care depinde viitorul candidatului.

Multa lume, indiferent de varsta, a avut urmatorul vis: esti in sala de examen, ai foaia in fata si ai uitat absolut TOT! De cele mai multe ori se intampla nici sa nu poti lega doua cuvinte coerent intr-o limba inteligibila. Stresul e maxim si presiunea e atat de mare incat te trezesti gafaind. Chiar daca a fost doar un vis, te face sa te intrebi daca ai totul sub control si daca ii poti face fata cand va veni ziua examenului. Presiunea de a reusi pe plan scolar este imensa; nu numai din partea parintilor si a profesorilor, dar si din partea ta, a candidatului.

Daca te panichezi numai cand te gandesti la examen, e cazul sa discuti cu cineva – cel mai bine cu profesorul tau. El sau ea te va linisti si iti va raspunde la toate intrebarile pe care le ai cu privire la pastrarea calmului la examen. Ideal ar fi ca discutia aceasta sa fie purtata din timp, nu cu putine zile inainte de examen – ideea este sa previi panica din timp, nu instantaneu.

Trebuie sa stii la ce te astepti. Cum va fi examenul? Va fi grila? Va fi cu raspunsuri deschise sau va trebui sa redactezi un eseu?

• In cazul unui examen grila, citeste cu atentie intrebarea. Nu te uita la raspunsuri din prima. Gandeste-te la ce ai raspunde tu si apoi vezi daca unul dintre raspunsurile date e similar cu ce ai gandit tu. Bazeaza-te pe logica, dar si pe instinct – de obicei nu te tradeaza, dar fii foarte atent!
• Daca intrebarile sunt intrebari cu raspunsuri scurte sau de tip eseu, citirea cerintei este cruciala. In cazul in care ai de redactat un eseu, fa-ti planul pe o ciorna, stabileste cate paragrafe iti trebuie si ce trebuie sa incluzi in fiecare. Astfel vei evita taieturile de pe foaia de examen si vei avea un rezultat mult mai organizat. Nu folosi vocabular complicat de care nu esti sigur. Sansele de esec sunt mult mai mari. Axeaza-te pe ceea ce ai invatat si pe ce esti sigur. Nu vrei sa fii depunctat pentru ca ai scris gresit cuvintele cu care iti doreai sa impresionezi corectorii.

E foarte bine sa ii ceri profesorului un set de subiecte care s-au dat in anii trecuti pentru a sti la ce sa te astepti. Daca formatul iti este familiar, va fi mult mai simplu cand vei avea foaia de examen in fata.

Cand esti in sala de examen, pastreaza-ti calmul. Nu e ca si cum poti invata acum ce ai trecut cu vederea acum 3 luni. E important sa fi mancat in dimineata examenului si sa fi avut parte de un somn linistit in noaptea de dinainte. Da tot ce ai mai bun pentru a nu avea sentimente de regret de genul “Daca mentionam si lucrul X si Y…”

Cu ocazia aceasta, doresc sa urez mult noroc tuturor care se pregatesc pentru examenele Cambridge din primavara si vara asta! Dati tot ce aveti mai bun!

 

 

Competitia intre copii

“3…2…1…Start concurs!” Acum e sansa ta sa arati ce ai mai bun si sa lupti pentru ceea ce iti doresti! Fie ca e vorba de o nota buna, un premiu sau un trofeu, concursurile fac pe toata lumea sa dea tot ce e mai bun din ei pentru a demonstra ca pot si ca merita sa fie cei mai buni.

Dar sa demonstreze pentru cine…? In primul rand, pentru ei. Competitia cu sine insusi ii ajuta pe copii sa aiba cele mai bune rezultate. Azi este in competitie cu cel care a fost ieri, maine cu cel care a fost azi si asa mai departe. Progresam in fiecare zi, si pe masura ce crestem, invatam ca suntem mai buni decat am fost acum o zi, o luna sau un an.  Fie ca este vorba de un sport sau de stapanirea unei limbi straine sau a unui instrument muzical, competitia cu el insusi il mentine pe copil implicat in procesul de invatare. Poate sa isi faca o lista de lucruri pe care le-ar putea invata. Astfel, capacitatile sale de invatare se vor dezvolta considerabil si va fi mandru de propriile sale peformante.

In al doilea rand, pentru parinti. Atat timp cat parintii investesc in activitati extrascolare precum cursuri de limbi straine, sporturi sau lectii de muzica, acestia isi doresc sa vada si rezultate. Nu neaparat primul loc pe tara, dar un rezultat notabil diferit fata de cand a inceput activitatea in sine. Chiar si cand e vorba de o nota mare sau un rezultat la un concurs, e bine sa stabiliti din cand in cand o mica recompensa, pentru a-i stimula spiritul de competitie. Nimic extravagant – poate chiar si o simpla iesire la cofetarie cu toata familia pentru a sarbatori reusita.

Si nu in ultimul rand, e bine sa demonstreze ca are spirit competitiv si la scoala. Competitia din cadrul clasei ii invata pe copii sa castige si sa piarda pe langa faptul ca ii poate stimula sa invete mai mult si mai bine. Invatati-l cum sa treaca peste un esec, cum sa isi organizeze timpul pentru a invata mai eficient si cum sa identifice propriile puncte slabe, pentru a le depasi. Daca are vreo nelamurire legata de orice, sa nu ezite sa isi intrebe profesorul sau invatatorul!

La Follow Me, incurajam copiii sa-si arate spiritul competitiv la ore, prin mici concursuri, mini-teste pe care le recompensam dupa caz. Si sa nu uitam de concursurile de creativitate care se rasplatesc prin premii consistente!

Cu ocazia asta, tinem sa va reamintim de deadline-ul concursului “My Best Photograph – The Story”. Lucrarile trebuie trimise pana joi, 9 februarie pe adresa  follow_me_school@yahoo.com , iar luni vom afla castigatorul cel mare. Asa ca multa bafta si asteptam cu nerabdare pozele insotite de povesti.

CONCURS: My best photograph – the story

A trecut ceva vreme de cand nu am mai avut un concurs! De data aceasta vrem sa vedem potentialul maxim al copiiilor nostri, ata ca fotografi, cat si ca scriitori! Se spune ca o fotografie face cat 1000 de cuvinte, dar fiecare poveste din spatele sau este unica si merita spusa si citita! Fie ca e o poza cu animalul copilariei, o poza de grup cu prietenii de suflet sau familia, noi vrem sa o vedem si vrem sa citim ce sta in spatele ei!

Te pasioneaza fotografia? Trimite-ne cea mai expresiva si interesanta fotografie pe care ai facut-o pana acum insotita de povestea ei in limba engleza (pe cine sau ce ai fotografiat, cum te-ai simtit atunci, ce se intampla sau la ce te-a facut sa te gandesti respectivul peisaj) pentru a o publica pe blogul nostru, pe situl http://www.cursuri-followme.ro si pentru a o afisa in scolile Follow Me. Premiul consta in cartile din imagine:

Poza poate reprezenta oameni, animale, insecte, plante, peisaje, insa trebuie sa fie facuta DE TINE si nu copiata.

Vom lua in considerare atat talentul fotografic si creativitatea, cat si “povestea” din spatele pozei, care trebuie sa aiba intre 10 si 20 de randuri scrise la calculator cu font Times New Roman, dimensiunea 12 (intr-un document cu extensia .doc sau .docx)

Poza si povestea trebuie trimise pana la data de joi, 9 februarie la adresa de mail: follow_me_school@yahoo.com, insotite de numele complet al autorului.

Poza castigatoare va fi publicata pe blog luni, 13 februarie.

Concursul este adresat copiilor cu varste intre 10 si 18 ani.

Toate profesoarele Follow Me isi incurajeaza cursantii sa participe la acest concurs! Nu numai ca vor fi premiati, dar poate unii dintre ei isi vor descoperi talente nebanuite care merita sa fie impartasite si altora! Incurajam originalitatea si creativitatea si avem mare incredere ca vom avea de unde alege castigatorii!

Halloween? A story for babies. A joke compared to what happened to me on St. Andrew’s night.

Yes, I’ll tell you! But you have to listen silently. If you say a word, I’ll stop and you’ll stay silent forever!

It was the 30th of November and it was night. Outside there were clouds, dark clouds and fog. You couldn’t see anything further than two or three meters and in the house, even if it was supposed to be warm, it was colder than ever. I was alone because my parents went to some friends’ and I stayed home to do my homework. I had been punnished.

At about half past seven P.M. I finished my homework and I decided to go downstairs to have dinner.

When I was on the stairs, I heard a noise, something like “Auch!”. I got goosebumps, but I went downstairs. The lights were off. I didn’t remember turning them off, so I got scared, but I didn’t believe in spirits, vampires or witches. I went to make something delicious to eat.

At nine o’clock I went downstairs in my bedroom, but I left the lights on.

While I was staying in my room, I heard a scary “Hahaha” and a “Boom”. I got into my pillow and I started to cry. While I was crying, I felt something on my leg and screamed. Guess what it was? A ghost! A friendly and funny ghost. She said that she was Mandy and she was there with her family: her grandfather, the spirit Kare, her dad, Jasper the vampire and Tracy, a witch who was her mother. She also said that every year, on St. Andrew’s night, they chose and made scary jokes to its members.

Terrified because entities were invading my house, I wanted to call mom, but I remembered that I was a strong girl and that Halloween and its stories were for babies. I got out of my room and begged Mandy to show me her family. She made me invisible and took me in the bathroom where her dad was writing with blood on the mirror: “I was here!”, then in my parents’ room where her mom was, putting some frogs in the closet. Finally, Mandy brought me in the kitchen. There was her grandfather making some ” S.S. Salt.Spirit.”

I don’t know why, but when I saw all of these I started to laugh, imagining what my parents’ reactions would be.

Unfortunatelly, I had to meet Mandy’s family face to face. They were a little bit too friendly.

While I was in the bathroom cleaning the mirror, they left the house and brought a note: “We’ll be back next year. Kisses!”

“Oh, it couldn’t be possible”, I thought. Another St. Andrew’s for babies next year too?”

The Monsters will eat you if you don’t come at the party!

Our party is on the 31^st of October 2011 at 9pm. Please bring your blood, so we can drink all night! We will dance around your heads.

The lights will be switched off. All zombies are invited and we will go together at the cemetery!

Happy Halloween!

When Andy met Sandy…collective stories from group S4A

Version 1:

Andy was ugly and he had three hands. He was from Romania and he was a bit satanic. Sandy was a beautiful girl, too beautiful for Andy, who was very ugly. They met at a junk yard for the first time.

The meeting was weird. They went home because they were brothers. He said that she was very cute but she was too young for him.

She ended up calling him a racist! Sandy ran out the bar screaming and left Andy crying.

From that moment, Andy never discriminated girls again.

Version 2:

Andy was a nerd. Sandy was like a fat granny. They met in a night club. They went inside and danced all night for money. He went to her and said:

“Hi there, chick!”

“I’m not a chick! I’m a human!” Sandy replied.

Next step in the story… they exploded in a million pieces!

Andy left the club because he was very angry.

Version 3:

Andy was Santa Claus and the IRS came and took his house and now he became homeless in the desert. Sandy was a piece of ground with fourteen eyes and seventeen heads. She looked like a man.

Andy and Sandy met at a party and it was the worst meeting in the world. When they met, they started crying to each other.

He said that she was ugly and that she smelled really bad.

They went to a restaurant and had lunch together.

After that, they ran home and watched TV.

Version 4:

Andy was a rock star from the USA. He was tall and seemed like the coolest boy in the world. Sandy was a Romanian girl who liked listening to bad music and who ate seeds every second. She was very stinky.

They met in the middle of the desert when Andy was eating sand from Russia.

Their meeting didn’t go very well because Andy had some stomach problems. He didn’t say anything. He was too angry. She cussed and then he kissed her.

Finally, they got married and lived together for the rest of their lives.

Version 5:

Andy was a homeless guy who was addicted to drugs. Sandy didn’t have an honorable job and she loved Justin Bieber.

They met in the lady’s bathroom in the mall. Andy was there because the men’s bathroom was full.

Their meeting went very bad. Sandy threw water at Andy and he pulled out a cake out of her dress.

He said ” I’m ugly, you’re ugly…let’s be together!”

She told him that she didn’t like men. They had a fight but eventually got married.

Fiecare a avut de scris cate 1-2 propozitii, iar copiii nu au putut vedea ce au scris colegii lor, de aceea povestile au iesit atat de… “deosebit”:)

One scary Halloween… at Follow Me

La Follow Me ne putem lauda cu copii foarte creativi si constiinciosi. Cum se aporpie sarbatoarea de Halloween, am decis sa organizam un concurs pentru cei mai talentati cursanti ai nostri. Foarte multi sunt fascinati de povestile de groaza cu vampiri, varcolaci sau fantome, iar altii pot fi atrasi de poeme inspaimantatoare sau amuzante despre noaptea de Halloween.

Cei mai mici dintre copii (juniori, cu varsta intre 8 si 10 ani) pot alege una dintre subiectele de mai jos:

1. Describe how your house looks on Halloween night in one page. 

2. The spooky students at Monsterville Elementary School have decided to have a Halloween Party at school. Create an invitation to the party. Include: date, time, place, menu and any special instructions for participants.

Vocabularul este unul invatat deja la clasa, iar Miss ii va ajuta pe copiii dornici sa participe la concurs corectandu-le greselile si indrumandu-i spre varianta care li s-ar potrivi mai bine. Daca aleg a doua tema, invitatie trebuie sa fie cat mai atractiva (facuta fie pe calculator, fie de mana pe hartie de carton)  si sa cuprinda informatii exacte despre petrecerea de Halloween.

Seniorii (cu varste de peste 11 ani) au mai multe variante de participare:

1. Write a STORY starting with one of the following ways:

a. “Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound came from inside the closet. Quietly, I crept toward the door…”

b. “Halloween? A story for babies. A joke compared to what happened to me on St. Andrew’s night.”

OR

2. Write a Halloween POEM (it can be horror or funny) containing at least 8 of the words: 

chain, rain, moon, soon, yell, hell, cats, bats, brave, grave, spy, cry

Povestile trebuie sa fie de cel putin o foaie A4 si sa fie scrise de mana. Seniorii au un potential creativ mult mai mare si de aceea speram sa citim compuneri minunate din partea lor. Dar nici juniorii nu sunt mai prejos, avand in vedere ca exista copii la Follow me care sunt foarte inteligenti pentru varsta lor. Tocmai pentru ca nu este o tema obligatorie, ci un concurs, eforturile vor fi recompensate cu premii!

Data limita de predare a lucrarilor este 27 Octombrie. Fiecare copil ii va preda lui Miss lucrarea, iar compunerile si poemele castigatoare vor fi publicate pe blog si Facebook.
